Medical Care for FIU Dependents Now Available at the Faculty Group Practice
The FIU HEALTH Faculty Group Practice (FGP) is pleased to announce that effective November 1, 2011 it has extended its services to include adult dependents (18 years and older) of the FIU community.
Open since 2009, the FGP offers primary and multi-specialty medical care provided by board-certified primary care physicians and specialists from the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. Among the services provided are routine physicals, well-care visits, preventive care health screenings, women's health and gynecology, along with the management of chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.
The FGP is located on the Modesto Maidique Campus in the PG-5 building, and offers 10 state-of-the-art patient examination rooms, full-time hours of operation and medical services, including radiology and laboratory testing. The FGP accepts numerous insurance plans, including those provided through FIU for faculty and staff. Appointments – including same day service – are available on Monday and Thursday from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., and can be scheduled by calling (305) FIU-DOCS (348-3627).
