Influenza is among the most common respiratory illnesses in the United States, infecting millions of people every flu season.  Every year, flu spreads across the country, from person to person, family to family, and community to community. Even healthy children and adults can get very sick from the flu and spread it to family and friends. Flu seasons are unpredictable and can be severe. An annual flu vaccine is the best way to prevent the flu and flu-related complications that could lead to hospitalization or death.

As a way to keep the FIU community healthy during the upcoming flu season, flu shots are now available at FIU Health's Modesto Maidique Campus location on the following days and times: Mondays from 1 PM to 7 PM, Wednesdays from 8:30 AM to 1 PM, and Fridays from 8 AM to 5 PM. No appointments are needed and vaccines will be available while supplies last.

Since the flu shot is covered by most health plans, there is no charge or copayment (just bring your photo ID and insurance card). For those people without insurance, a $20.00 charge (payable by check or cash) will apply.
